What are NextDoorWash Service Fees?

Service fees are charged when making laundry requests on the NextDoorWash website. The fees helps cover the costs of operating the website for laundry service providers and requesters. Some of the costs to run the NextDoorWash website include: covering transaction cost to facilitate secure transaction, enhancing our services, and providing customer service. We pledge to reduce service fees in future when payment gateways charge us lesser transaction fees when we hit higher transaction volumes.

  1. Laundry Provider service fees

We charge Laundry Provider (or Laundry Service Provider) a service fee every time a laundry request is confirmed. The amount of service fee is 8% of the laundry request fee subtotal. The service fee is calculated from the laundry request subtotal and is automatically deducted from the payout to the Laundry Provider.

  1. Laundry Requester service fees

We charge Laundry Requester (or Laundry Service Provider) a service fee every time a laundry request is confirmed. The amount of service fee is based on 5% (*or 2.5% depending on payment mode) of the laundry request subtotal.

After entering the exact pieces of laundry for a laundry request, you will see the service fee included as part of the laundry request details and on the checkout page before submitting a laundry request. The exact amount of the service fee charged for past laundry requests is also located on your past invoices.

  1. GST/VAT charges on service fees

Depending on the laws of the jurisdiction involved, GST/VAT may be charged on top of the Provider and Requester service fee. The service fee will include these GST/VAT charges when applicable.

*Tips to reduce fees

To help you save money, NextDoorWash offers the option of offline payment for laundry fee. Do note that for every laundry request, there are two charge components. One of the charge component is service fee, while the other charge component is laundry fee. Service fees will always be paid online.

The service fees are as follows:

Type of Fee

Fee Amount

Laundry Requester service fee

(using offline payment mode)

2.5% of laundry fee

Laundry Requester service fee

(using online payment mode)

5% of laundry fee

Laundry Provider service fee

8% of laundry fee

The difference between online payment and offline payment modes can be significant as the service fee is reduced to 2.5% of the laundry request subtotal.

Example

Below example shows the amount of money you can save using offline payment mode.

Assuming the laundry fee is $100.

The Laundry Provider service fee will be $8 (8% of laundry fee).

If Online Payment mode is chosen, Invoice will look like this

Description

Amount

Laundry fee

$100.00

Laundry Requester service fee

$5.00

Total Paid in System

$105.00

The Laundry Requester service fee will be $5 (5% of laundry fee).

If Offline Payment mode is chosen, Invoice will look like this

Description

Amount

Laundry Requester service fee

$2.50

Laundry Provider service fee

$8.00

Total Paid in System

$10.50

The Laundry Requester service fee will now be $2.50 (2.5% of laundry fee). Note that only service fees are paid online when you select offline payment mode. There is no payment of laundry fee in the system.

Since offline payment mode is selected, you will have to pay laundry fee of $92 in cash to laundry provider when collecting your cleaned laundry. The reason why $92 (and not $100) is because you have already paid the Laundry Provider’s service fee to NextDoorWash. Using the offline payment mode, you will be able to save $2.50 for each $100 request. This is significant and useful if you make laundry requests regularly. The only downside is you have to bring cash to make payment during collection. Otherwise, you will not be able to receive your cleaned laundry.
